Welcome to my easy guide to a brighter, younger looking skin, in a nutshell!

Follow these golden rules to get a noticeably brighter, more radiant complexion in a matter of weeks. Your best skin is yet to come!  As I’m sure you’ve heard by now, gut health, skincare products, lifestyle choices all play a significant part in maintaining and achieving a healthy, glowing skin.

Follow these golden rules to start your journey to your best skin:

1. Choose your skincare products wisely!

It all starts with your cleansing routine – choose the right product for your skin type. If it’s too harsh it will strip your skin of its natural oils and leave your skins barrier irritated and sensitised. If it’s too gentle, you won’t be cleansing thoroughly and therefore skin cells will build up and you’ll get blocked pores, dehydration and even perhaps a build up of milia.

2. Start your day with some stretching to boost blood circulation

Sounds simple, right!? Add this easy step in to your morning routine and help to stimulate blood flow. We can all get a bit sluggish, especially after being in bed for hours. By boosting your blood flow, your muscles get the oxygen they need to function at their best. It’s also great for the joints and skin. Your skin detoxifies overnight so start your day by drinking water too.

3. Reduce sugar intake

This step is not so simple, especially if you love chocolate, like me! Sugar in your bloodstream attaches to proteins and produces free radicals. Free radicals are harmful to the skin and cause premature ageing. So ditch the sugar or reduce it, especially in the evening.

4. Wear SPF, even in Winter!

Sounds daft, doesn’t it!? Even though we have dark, grey winter days, the suns rays can still be damaging to our skin. Scale it down to a factor 15 during winter months but increase it to a higher factor through spring and summer.

5. Your skin doesn’t stop at your chin!

Always include your neck and décolleté as part of your face care regime. The skin, connective tissues and muscles are all connected and the skin on your neck and décolleté are just as important in maintaining a youthful appearance.

6. Eat a healthy, balanced diet

Eat a varied diet with a mixture of colour! That’s the rule! Different coloured veg and fruit will cover most vitamins that the skin needs but you also need lots of protein. Protein helps to repair and build the skin and helps to create collagen.

Oily fish, sunflower seeds, red bell peppers, eggs, grains, nuts…. and drink lots of water!

7. Say no to face wipes!

Face wipes do absolutely nothing for your skin. In fact, they probably cause more harm than good. So only use in an emergency!

8. Follow my 18-step guide to a more toned, lifted and rejuvenated skin.

If you haven’t yet had chance to book on to my masterclass session, you’ll need to wait a tad longer to see my 18-step guide to a brighter, more youthful skin.

I have created an easy to follow guide that provides you with massage techniques and stretches to lift and tone the muscles and relax over-worked muscles of the face, neck and chest, to help you achieve a rejuvenated appearance.  Add it in to your self-care regime and see visible results in weeks.  A downloadable guide will be available on my website soon.

9. Exercise and mobilise your joints

Believe it or not, your posture plays a huge part in skin ageing. All of the muscles of the face and neck are connected throughout the body. A bad posture can pull down the muscles of the face and cause premature wrinkling of the skin. A healthy spine is key to a happy, younger looking you!

10. Book in for a facial

My Signature facial is the perfect place to start. A thorough cleanse and deep exfoliation to remove the build up of dead skin cells will immediately brighten your skin, followed by treatments and advanced massage therapy to increase cell renewal, boost your lymphatic system and oxygenate, not only the skin cells but your face and neck muscles too.

“Wrinkles form in the skin due to repetitive muscle contraction under the skin” Allow your face muscles to relax in the comfort of my hands on approach.

I look forward to welcoming you in to the clinic soon!
